How to remove gel nail strips :A Guide to Removing Gel Nail Strips
Step-by-Step Guide to Removing Gel Nail Strips:
1. Properly Prepare Your Workspace: Find a well-lit and comfortable space to work. Gather all your supplies and ensure you have good ventilation as acetone can have a strong odor.
2. Safely and patiently Trim the Excess: If your gel nail strips have grown out and are longer than you prefer, use nail clippers to gently trim the excess length. Be cautious not to cut too close to your natural nails.
3. File and notice the Surface: Using a gentle nail file or buffer, lightly file the surface of the gel nail strips. This helps break the seal of the strips and allows the acetone to penetrate more effectively.
4. Prepare the Acetone Solution: Soak cotton balls or pads in acetone or gel polish remover. You can also use acetone wraps designed specifically for nail removal. Make sure the cotton is saturated but not dripping.
5. Apply the Acetone: Place the acetone-soaked cotton balls or pads directly onto the gel nail strips. If using individual cotton balls, wrap each nail with a small piece of aluminum foil to hold the cotton in place.
6. Wrap and Wait: Let the acetone-soaked cotton balls or wraps sit on your nails for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the gel nail strips to soften and loosen from your natural nails.
7. Carefully Remove the Strips: After the soaking period, carefully and carefully remove the aluminum foil and cotton balls. You’ll notice that the gel nail strips have become more pliable and can be easily lifted.
8. Lift and Push : Use a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick to gently push and lift the softened gel nail strips away from your natural nails. Be gentle and patient to avoid damaging your nails.
9. Clean and Condition: Once the gel nail strips are removed, gently buff the surface of your natural nails to smooth out any remaining residue. Apply cuticle oil or a moisturizing lotion to hydrate your nail beds.
10. Post-Removal Care: Take a moment to appreciate your natural nails before deciding if you’d like to apply a new set of gel nail strips or opt for a different nail style. If you’re not applying new strips immediately, keep your nails well-nourished with regular applications of cuticle oil.
